Touchscreens Decoded(may be)

Touch screens they conquered the world of mobile communication and systems,They are everywhere phones, tabs, laptops, desktops and even in desks itself (in the form of surface computing)....
there are mainly two types of touch screens.....
  • Resistive touch
  • Capacitive touch

Here the matter of concern is capacitive type touches, because of two reasons
first is that the resistives are li'l bit easy to understand....Second and the most important is,That I found a nature of capacitive type touches (found it just by playing around with it) :D :-)   May be others too found that .....

Now here,,

Resistive touches :They consists of two layers with a air gap in between when the upper layer is pressed and touches the bottom layer may be a current flow from upper to lower layer, not to mention a very minute current..
and then the point of flow of current is calculated and action is performed accordingly....
Hence they are just the matter of pressure whether the pressure is applied by hand or a stylus or a common pencil.
from now you can call resistives a press screen rather than touch ...
now you can figure it out why these type of touches loss there sensitivity after some time and needs to apply more pressure.

Capacitive touches : Now they are bit interesting as you can't operate it by anything else your hand, hmmmmm this isn't right you can operate it by many more other things than what you thought of....
well in capacitives they removed one layer, decreased the amount of current/voltage(may be) and they put the charge on the screen which when connected to your body gets diffused/absorbed/transmitted.As the charge just needs to be diffused/ab..... you can use any metal bar or stick that is directly connected to the earth or your body..
But don't use a pointed metal thing as it can harm your screen and may not work as it is designed to be operated by your finger you need to use a blunt metal piece or you can just roll the one end of the wire to make a small wire ball and hold other end in your hand or just ground it....

What i found is that you can operate it by a normal cell i.e a AA or AAA sized alkaline,NiMh,NiCd cell... and the most important thing what i found was you can operate it only by negative pole of the battery.. and this shows that screen is positively charged(with holes as the majority carrier) and needs to get -ve charge to diffuse it's positive charge.... and battery keeps on recharging the screen... and this is the reason why some of the capactive touchscreen becomes shaky when operated while connected to the charger as the charger is charging the battery battery is charging the screen and performing other operations in the phone...

You can probably make a stylus with a button cell and a with metal stick....
To operate the capacitive screens...
Best of luck and bye
